Stormzy’s killer performance at the 2018 Brit Awards

February 22, 2018

At the 2018 BRITS on Wednesday the critically-acclaimed grime rapper, Stormzy, took home two of the biggest awards of the night. Dressed in an all-black Blanks Factory tracksuit the south Londoner won not only male artist of the year, but also album of the year for his 2017 Debut, Gang Signs & Prayer.

In addition to the success of the night, Stormzy gave a powerful performance where he brought attention to the Grenfell Tower fire and the government’s handling of it. The performance was ground-breaking from his lyrics to the stunning visual aesthetics of the set. The gospel-influences mixed with the urgency of his rap blend together under yellow lighting and rain, further captivating audiences and solidifying Stormzy’s position as a leading figure in the current British music scene.
